The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Croton, Braircliff and Ossining held a special collection to benefit Julio Serrano, who was the victim of a violent attack in May.
Representatives of the congregation presented the check to PAPA president, Bishop Michael J. Champion, after a Sunday liturgy which he celebrated in his parish on June 13.
To date, PAPA, through it’s patrons and member congregations, has collected some $2,000.00 to assist Julio in the many costs associated with his on-going recovery. All funds have been given directly to the family.
Julio, his sister Narcisa, his mother, Doña Martha and the entire family express their deepest thanks to everyone who has helped. Through these efforts, they have been able to purchase many of the medications he needs and will continue to use for some time.
The appeal remains open to anyone who would like to contribute.
